Default Bad Dad 6x9 speaker conversion

Anyone have any experience with installing the 2013 Bad Dad 6x9 speaker conversion kit? I have Bad Dad bags, with 5x7 lids now, I cut the basket off per instructions and mounted the 6x9 conversion adapter but lid will not close properly as the bracket hits the shock indentation on the inside of bag itself, so lid does not seat properly.....No speaker attached, just adapter only and lid will not close properly...I see the problem, just don't know why its not working.

Any suggestions or anyone with experience, I know call them but working on it today and wanted to get it all connected...

Thanks in advance..

Nope.. lol.......When I removed the 5x7 protective basket from the underside of the lid, I didn't grind it all completely flat and left too much material for the angle of the adaptor plate. It would close, fitment was better but I did end of removing a very small portion of the adaptor that was hitting the shock tower relief area on the bag itself that wouldnt allow the lid to fully slide the tabs under that hold the lid in place. So I just removed a very small portion of the adaptor to allow for clearance around the shock area. and all is good with Hertz 6x9 HCX690's and rocking now....
