Ok so like the title says my CD is stuck in the radio. I have 2013 RGU and when I hit the eject button last night it went to just making noise and saying Disc Error 1. Hell I don't even have the option to choose CD right now. It goes from FM to WB.
And currently the money is not there to just swap out with a aftermarket. I actually had a Marine Kenwood deck in it and it stopped working cuz it got wet in the rain. I guess it liked a bath once in awhile but the rain Hell NO!!
I had a 13 RGC that that happened to. I lived with it for a little while and then the battery died and once I replaced the battery, it recognized the CD again and discharged my CD and started working again.
It might be worth the trouble to disconnect the battery and see if that works.
Iron Cross Radio has been a great company to deal with, and they're a sponsor. Maybe a nice call to them, and they can offer free advice. Tell them based upon recommendations on this forum you are thinking by of sending it to them but hrs such a PITA to remove, maybe they can make a suggestion.
Edit: I just did some Googling, so try:
- don't disconnect at the battery, turn the radio on, then pull and replace the maxi fuse a couple times.
- open the door and go for a ride on a bumpy road
- open the door and smack the radio a few times.
- try to pull it out with long nose thin needle nose pliers...this will likely ruin the CD though
- listen to your smart phone or iPod through the audio plug
- send it to Iron Cross, and for $250 they fix it with a full 1 year warranty. While it's there, consider some of the upgrades they do.

Anyone got any ideas how to get it out?
Thanks

If you've already had a Kenwood in there once. I assume you already have your hand controls covered with an install kit. If that's the case here is your best and cheapest option:
TriGeezer is spot on with the Iron cross recommendation. But it's gonna cost you at least $250 and IMO another $250 bucks in that radio is not worth it.

Just to update this for those that may run across this problem.
I was able to get the CD out of the radio. After all the suggestions I was able to take a second disc and try to put into the player and after several attempts it spit it out like it should. This was CD-R disc that had been in for a long time. So I got brave and found a bought disc and tried it real quick and it went in and out no problem. Maybe it doesn't like the CD-R disc but not sure why.
I did pull the main fuse and it did not work.
I also rode about 20 miles with the CD door open and nothing.
I had read that these two ideas had worked but not for me.
