And that radio is like a labyrinth. They couldn't have made a more complicated head unit with regard to settings and crap. I didn't know you could set a HPF on that HU. Sounds like we will be going back in. Thank you, I appreciate the help.
Yes snip the wires in the middle and hook up to the front right and left speaker wires on the HU. Settings for the 310 are as follows....HPF-80, Slope-1, EQ-Explode, DM+ ON, Dynamic loudness OFF, listening position-All. Set amp to AP and reset gains with bike running. Should end up somewhere between 5-6.
If distortion sets in a little early, bump the HPF up to 100.

New question. In setting up the high level inputs, we have this "retro radio" module. Where to we cut into the wire? Before the white connector or after the white connector?

Thanks so much, sorry for being a pest.

You can cut it either place but I'd cut it between the plug and the radio, but cut it to where I could rejoin them at a later date should he decide to change amps and run RCA's down the road.
On the HU, I'll have to double check when I get home, when you get to the HPF settings push in on the volume ****. Then you either rotate or push the side of the **** left or right. To get to the Slope, push down while still in the HPF setting.

ok so now high level is hooked up, sounds great but the bike wont shut off completely. radio stays on, lights on the tach and speedo stay on. The only wires touched were the whites and grays - the speaker wires.

Sounds like you've got your illumination wire and your switched hot tied to a constant hot.
