Tweeter mounting options
Hey everyone. I have been browsing around this site for the past few years for tips/tricks and just general ideas on what to do to my Harley, yet this is my first post. I have a 2014 Street Glide Special in Amber Whiskey. Since I bought it new a few years back I have replaced the full exhaust and AC, added 12'' Yaffee bars and have sent quite a bit out to get powder coated black. I am by no means a mechanic, but I am pretty mechanically inclined and take pride in the fact that with the exception of the 1000 mile service I have done all of the wrenching my self. Which brings me to my current project... I just got the Hertz HSK 165's to replace the stock BOOM audio fairing speakers and a JL MX500/4 to power them. When I installed the 12" bars the mirrors were, for all intents and purposes, useless so i pulled them off and added bar mounted mirrors. The HSK is a component set and I am planning on putting the tweeters where the mirrors used to be. Have any of you done this, and if so, would you have any pictures/tips/tricks on how to achieve this while making it look clean?
Thanks
Thanks

There is definitely a cool factor for having them out in that vacant location but it's just a simple matter of wind and sound waves as SBates mentioned. Wind can kick the hell out of sound waves thus one of the major factors impacting sled audio.
If ur hell bent on using that location, horns might be a better option but I still think the grills or gauge holes are the optimum locations for fairing stage tweets/horns.

I'm seriously considering this route. Any suggestions for making it look clean? I prefer function over the "cool factor" but still want it to look professional. Are there any pods or methods to use that would also prevent someone from just walking up to the bike and pulling them off?
