While I love my WO575's, I've often wanted a little more rise so...
Decided to pull the trigger and started ordering parts last night.
I'll swap out the inner fairing to a new painted without mirror holes and I'm going with Arlen Ness Mini Oval bar mounted mirrors. Not sure if I'll mount them above or below the controls yet, we'll see which has better function, likely above.
I know I'll like them and I'm doing the complete and finished look the first time which is the reason for a new fairing.
That said, I'll have pictures comparing 575's to 578's, a big blue pearl inner fairing with mirror holes and some Performance Machine fairing mirrors for sale sometime after 15 February!
I'm going with 578's which seem to be frequently compared against Yaffe bars for many reasons but mostly because they're made in the USA. The wrist angles Wild 1 applies to their bars have worked well for me so far as well. Nothing against Yaffe products, just my personal reasons.

FYI - Those mirrors look cool but not much glass to give you good rearward visibility. I bought the PM ones (same size) and after not seeing much behind me, ditched them for some "functioning" mirrors. Form or Function......

Roger that. I figure they'll give about as much glass as my fairing mirrors do with the WO575's but will adjust better allowing for visibility at angles I can't get right now.
Just getting away from fairing mirrors with anything other than stock bars is an increase in function with the configurations I've worked with.

+1 HDV-GLIDE. When it comes to seeing the road behind you, Function trumps Form every time.
You will love them. I can stop smiling and thinking how happy I am with mine
What bars are you running?
I love the 575's fit, function and finish. I just want more rise.
Before I start swapping out the 575's for 578's I am going to do as much of a comparison through pictures as possible.
I have done a lot of reading on bars and everyone writes they're happy with either their 575's or 578's, but there was little in the way of direct comparison. Just hope to provide that to others who will be making the same consideration.
These bars are the bomb and are so comfortable. Got them (WO578) on my 2012 and they feel as nice as the 14" Wild1 on my RK. You can't go wrong with Wild1
jl,
I just had the Wild 1 W0 578 installed on my 08 street glide. The dealer actually called me up so I could have a seat on the bike before they do the final torque down. All I can say is you will be thrilled with the difference. I'm only 5'10", and my elbows were bent slightly when I went to reach for the bars. I found myself having a lot of neck and shoulder pain with the stock bars. I didn't want to go to tall, as sometimes law enforcement around here can be difficult(imho). I can't wait to take her out for a spin...once this snow is all gone. Good luck bro..
