Default $800 budget

I have a 2015 Street Glide Special and l'm looking to upgrade the audio. I currently have an old Alpine amp, Stage 1 Boom Speakers and a BT355. I wanted the metal grilles and the speakers came with them in the deal.

I will be buying a set of Biketronics speaker brackets but l'm looking for advice on the rest.

It will just be a set of fairing speakers but may add lids in the future so that's something to keep in mind. I really don't want a set of speakers with seperate tweeter (components).

My main source of music comes from the radio. No country music and not a big rap music fan. Mostly rock and classic rock.

Help spend my money guys. I know that there are some knowledgable guys here ready to help.

Is the 800 above and beyond the brackets or is it 800 total?

With your criteria a Arc Moto 600.4 amp and their wiring harness and a good set of 6.5 " coaxial speakers would fit your budget

Get with Haze with Bagger Audio Labs, he is a sponsor of the forum and can put this package together for you and give you good options on the speakers

Why are u against using component speakers?

Just as an FYI, Class D amps will hammer ur FM reception (small hammer for some amps giant hammer for others) and since u stated that that's your primary source of tunes I would think long and hard about ur build strategy and specific products that r being used.

I'm not dead set against using component speakers but l will not bore any holes in the fairing to mount them. If the tweeters can be mounted inside the grille, l'm cool with that.

Back in the early 90's l was really into car audio. Even entered a few small competitions at Audio King. That was a long time ago and l've been reading many of the threads on here for some time now.

One thing l'm concerned about is bass. More like losing it really. I know that a motorcycle fairing doesn't make for the best enclosure and it's difficult to get deep bass out of a 6.5" speaker, but what about when you fire the bike up and ride it? They sound good when sitting in the garage but out on the road things change. Is it in the radios workings?

Pretty much no one drills holes in their fairing to mount the tweeters. This is the most popular way to mount them. (metal Hog Tunes grills for about 30 bucks) Some guys wrap the entire grill & tweeter with speaker cloth which gives a fairly stock look. Me, I kinda like the tweeter exposed so I put the speaker cloth on the back side of the grill.

Man there are a couple of us that are more than willing to lend a hand getting a system installed and sounding good. I'm over in Eden Prairie, Chris is in Apple Valley and we have been working on our systems together over the last few weeks.

Give us a shout, we are more than happy to help.

What model is the Alpine amp, and do you plan on keeping it?
Can you post a pic of the metal grills currently installed?
