Thank you Izzo.

Unless there was a concern sent over message, I don't see the harm of this discussion on the open forum as it seems the majority of the user group here enjoys and supports the review threads. This open dialogue between admin and the community is a very valuable tool.

I can promise that if I I'm looking for clutch help tech reviews I'm not going to the tech section, I'm going to the clutch and transmission category.

What the heck am I missing?
A **** poor interpretation of how one sees a advertisement vs a unsolicited product review. If anywhere the thread would mention anything related to sales it is violating the rules, but if it was strictly about a product, no reference to any mention of sales, etc, then all is good according to the rules.

I'll leave this pic and with a little comment. If you want an awesome sounding system, designed by the team that won the 1000w class at Daytona back to back years hit me up. There's more where this came from.

I agree that reviews are a great tool. My issue is when the reviewer stands to profit from it. When that other vendor did it he was hounded out of here. Should we allow all vendors to review any or all of their products here? The site will be jammed with them.

A few questions:

1: Is this your issue or the forums issue? You stated MY issue as highlighted above.
2: Is there something that states in the vendor agreement that vendors are not allowed to profit from their accounts here?
3: Im not sure what "other vendor" you keep referring to, I have seen a few vendors that have shown up here for a few months and then disappear. Now I have not gone back and read again the post in question that started this entire uproar, but I have not seen BAL solicit sales from his reviews. IF you are referring to "the other" vendor as BAB, then please look at his posts again. He would constantly post "reviews" of the exact same speakers and exact same amps in different bikes AND state "give me a call or PM for our best price" Now that is soliciting for a sale and profit.
4: Should we allow vendors to review their products? Ummmm YES, isn't that what we are all here in specific sub categories for? We want information on specific products!!
5: Lastly, are YOU that vendors can NOT start product reviews in this forum BUT they ARE ALLOWED to respond to another post where someone asks for information on a product. They would then be allowed to give a review AND say hit me up at the shop or PM me for my best price?

Pete

Hey it's all good guys. We'll let IB the company that manages sponsor accounts handle it. I'm all for the spirit of this rule to avoid vendors from spamming the forum with a bunch of garbage ads. It used to happen here a few years ago with another sponsor and it turned ugly. That's not what I'm after. Whatever IB determines is that threshold I'm fine with. I'm not here to spam.

It's the rules of the forum. The rest is old history well known by many here. Too much to go into.

Thanks, Haze. I think that's the best course at this point. Sorry for the dust up. Thanks for keeping it civil.

If I remember correctly the one vendor that WAS in the forum here was always promoting 1 certain BRAND.

He would always say MY brand is the best out there and my BRAND this and that.

On the other hand BAL does not have have/use BAL brand equipment as the other sponsor had there own BRAND NAME.

Since all reviews BAL gives are on NON B.A.L. equipment and most if not all the reviewed equipment can be acquired by anyone going thru the a dealer of said reviewed product can buy it.

So I do not see were there is any problem with ANYONE including forum SPONSORS to give reviews of products as long as the sponsors company name is not on the reviewed product.

Just my 2 cents and how I read the rules.

And thanks for that one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it was getting unbearable,,,,,,,, ,,,, ,, sometimes!!!!
Really though, I really like the way this is going, no one is crying or being disrespectful and it will be handled in the correct way. Thanks Izzo, for not being "THAT GUY" who is only an admin to throw weight around. If you make the Midwest meet and greet, I'd be happy to buy your first barley pop.
