Intermintant speaker issues
I am having issues with my left rear saddlebag speaker. Once in a while it will sound muffled or as my wife says it is all gobbley gook sounding. I thought maybe it was the speaker so I installed some new 6900PRO's and after about 30 miles of riding it did it again. I can ride all day and never have it happen but other times it will do it. I have pulled a new wire to the speaker and it still did it. I am running a sound stream pn1000.4 amp with sony deck. Could it be the amp? it is weird it is just the left rear doing it.

These guys know their stuff here. But if it were me, let's start with what we do know. Intermittent problems can be hard to run down. I'd start with checking the speaker mount setup itself. Any vibration in there will distort. Had the same thing happen on front 6.5. Took it apart, reattached mount ring, problem solved. If that doesn't do it I'd break out the DMM and start getting readings from both harnesses at the speakers. Hopefully it's a mounting problem.....

Like Petejoe said, pop the fairing off and start the search. I would start from the RCA connections from the deck to the amp. Double check and while you're in there electrical tape around each connection. Check connections on the amp, give the speaker wires a tug, anything loose will send your gear into a fit. Follow wire back to make sure nothing is pinched. Connection at the bag for quick release? One bad pin in a deutsch connection? You'll track it down, keep us posted. Where in MN are you?
