I have a wurring noise when bike is running, but not when in accessory mode and bike not running.so finally got digging in on this problem I had since last year when I put bike away. Just a refresher I have an alpine bt149 radio, hawg wired rs400 amp, focal Krc speakers, and hawg wired stereo cradle and wiring controls. So with everybody's recommendation I replaced the 1' ground cable and ran 8 gauge back to battery and didn't fix problem. Called hawg wired and they said to replace the rca cable, replaced same issue.now I'm down to all the expensive parts that are left (radio, amp, speakers). Don't want to just keep replacing things until one of them fixed this. I need some advise on this being that I'm not great at diagnosing stuff like this. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a whirring noise in my Kenwood 998, when I put it in standby mode it stops, must have something to do with CD mechanism?
i had a bit of that with my aquatic, i loosened a small screw on the back of radio chassis, added a small slip in lug with a wire to the ground lug on amp. helped quite a bit, but not 100%
I would ask, by whurring noise (whirring) does it sound electrical ( ground loop or in a car system alternator whine) or mechanical! Mine sounded mechanical like something spinning in the HU!
Not to high jack the thread...but I did NOT have the whirrring noise with my HW RS400 and speakers with my OE antenna unplugged. I was running the junk "T" antenna. After getting the last of my bike pieces pc'ed, I went back to the OE antenna and now it whirrs like CRAZY with the throttle. No matter - I'm starting from scratch soon but there has to a way to for Hognit to fix this.
i have no antenna on my bike, and it's been that way for a couple of years since I installed this system. A stereo place my work offered for me to try a ground loop isolator that he uses in vehicles for free. Will try tonight.

well to my disbelief this ground loop isolator actually got rid of the noise, something still has to be causing this because it didn't do it for the first 2 years. Any ideas ?
