Mike I prefer a pro audio speaker in the lowers but with no settings I think you are limited to a coaxial speaker. It's the HPF I'm most concerned with. Generally the AD's is what I've used lately in lowers and rear pods when not running a pa speaker.

Thanks for the reply Alex, are you talking CX62..here's my dilemma, save my pennies for an adjustable amp for under the hood first...or go for the CX and yearn for the volume of a PA or SPL with a horn for down there! And also what's the diff between a SPL and a PA..thanks bro!

SPL is the name for the Hertz line. Pro Audio is the term used for that type of speaker.
Does anybody make a PA style coax that will fit in the lowers. I see MMats has 2 different coax's are they PA speaks and have you tried them?
I have the point source coax at the shop. They're pretty good, better bass than the AD's but the AD's have better SQ and seem louder. There are few pa's out there with a horn thru the vent pole but none that I've heard that sounded good. If you are putting them in your lowers I wouldn't bother hunting one down that has a horn or tweeter in it. There are way too many good options and honestly you won't need it.

Save your pennies/lunch money, work a hour over time each week. What ever it takes and do it the way you really want the first time. You'll be glad you did.

That's good advice Upland, but that ship has sailed ..started in 2008 with original Hog Tunes (32 rms), then Arc mini with 6.5 Polk DB's components, 5 1/4 Fosgates & Rainbows in TP pods, next SS 520 with KPS Focal's Comp. in fairing ($999 list, open box from Sonic $320) reamed out my TP pods & put 6.5 Arc then Focal in there, then purchased HD lowers and got BT Titan II's for those, then HD lids and put BT (HAT's) 6x9's in those (first on forum), then got 4180, then HAT Legatia SE's and Clarus tweets, then SS TN.900 in TP...sooo if you can picture Jim Mora saying "PLAYOFFS ... PLAYOFFS..You can picture me saying FIRST TIME..FIRST TIME...LOL

Sorry I over looked that. I new you were well into it by your previous posts. You know I thought I saw the finish line on the horizon. It was just a speck that never seemed to get closer. Turned out to be bug guts on my glasses. LOL
Good luck on your quest!
