The verdict is in for me. Why in the world did it take me so long to do this?

I was happy with the Focal KRC165. I am over the top happy with the AW6.5 and B3 horn combo.

The entire frequency spectrum is improved. I still have some tuning to do, but let me say that this is well worth the change.

There is one con in this entire situation. Who in their right mind would take a hole saw to their outer fairings on a whim three days before leaving on a 3500 mile trip?

So, to sum this up. 2.5 hours from fairing off to fairing on and that includes wiping all the sweat off my brow when I realized how stupid I was for drilling a hole into my inner fairing considering how expensive a new one is.

All in all, totally worth it. If you have the opportunity to get a set of these, do it.

In case you're wondering why I didn't go with the AT28 or the BT30 tweeters, the local dealer didn't have them and well, I'm leaving in 3 days and wanted my front stage to kick much butt for this trip and simply couldn't wait until I got back.

Speaking of the trip, to answer all the questions, here's a screenshot of my ride plan.

Getting ready for vacation is always a PITA, glad to hear you got the new speaks in for the big trip! I had Focal KPS components in my fairing and they were great sounding speaks, glad to here the AW's are even better, good job Andy! That loop you posted also looks amazing as well. Ha! I'd take a Hole saw to it in a heartbeat! The DD's and the B3 horns are an awesome combo. Did this install for JT metal about two months ago. Great Job Bro! Enjoy your trip and be safe!

Can these horns sit flush?

I have them all the way out just like the pic from earlier in the thread. I haven't played with adjusting the depth and probably won't until next week. If I'm only going to gain a little bit, I won't bother with it and I'll just leave them as is.
