You don't set the gains for what your amp is rated to put out. You set your gains by what your speakers can handle. I've never ran the Hertz speakers that you're using but I'm pretty sure they won't handle 200 watts. Pretty sure they won't handle 150 either.
The specs show 120 watts for those speakers.

He's got the Hertz DCX 165.3 fella's. Rated at 60 RMS. Probably need to be looking at 20.0 vac on those speakers. Both Haze and myself advised against those speakers but since he went and got em anyway. He needs to know their limitations. Those speakers will blow in a heartbeat with 200W going to em darkwing and won't get very loud. As I stated in my last post. I had those same speakers in my pods a few years back and they lasted 5 minutes. Should have went with the Polks bro!

I took most of y'all advice when I purchased my audio. I'm not audio savvy when it comes to all the tuning, so I did the best I could. I did back the gains down to around 18-20 vac. It's way better than stock, and eventually I'll purchase a set of "quality" speakers. But like I said from the beginning, I was on a budget. I took the advice of a audio dealer that claims they install audio on bikes and use these speaker on them, guess I made a bad choice, but I'll just have to live with these for now. I thank y'all for all the advice, I really do appreciate it! I'm still new to posting on the forum and all this bike audio, so please just bare with me. Once again, thanks to everyone who posted. I'll keep reading up on everything and try to stay in the loop on how to's and what's new. Safe riding to everyone!
