Default System upgrade

I posted a thread last week but can't find it. Need some input from the audio gurus. 13 SG, using the stock head but I want to upgrade the fairing speakers as well as install speakers in the lowers plus an amp. Don't want to spend a fortune either. Thanks

Here you go:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...i-install.html
(search - advanced, by user, in audio forum).

You had one response from the guru UN:

what does a "fortune" = for you. What's your budget?

A good a amp can be 100-500.

Speakers 60-250.

Adapter rings 30-40

amp wiring kit - 30.

Misc - connectors, polyfill, etc. - 10-20?

Tools - depends what you have already.

MM651's MM651's
are ~$125-140, you can get the lower power
DB651's DB651's
ones for ~$55-70 (both roughly depending on tax + s/h).

Not as budget friendly (pricing similar to J&M), but worth looking at for comparison - Biketronics Titan II's. 6.5" and 7.1" - new 7.1's same price as 6.5's right now on promo @ $249 (plus s/h).

Amps -
RF PBR300x2 RF PBR300x2
($140'ish),
Soundstream PN4.520D Soundstream PN4.520D
(4ch - $140ish - Known FM issues possible), http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_68787_Precision-Power-i350.2.html ($120'ish)(same internals as SS nano - also same possible FM interference).

so many options it's dizzying. Keep digging and reading and you'll find a good combo that works for you!

Let us know what you go with and Good luck!

Sorry - see you are looking to add lower's speakers. Disregard the 2ch amps with those MM651's.

MM651's are 2.7 ohm speakers and the amp will clip below 2 ohms (would be 1.35 ohm load in parallel).

Unless you go to 4 ohm speakers, in parallel would be 2ohm load. DB651's are 4 ohm. and the Biketronics as well. There's a bit of cost difference... hehehe.

just wanted to make sure you didn't get a 2ch and those MM651's! need a 4ch for that setup like UN suggested. Hope the reasoning why makes sense to you? (2.7 ohm in parallel = 1.35 ohm load on an amp that can'd do below 2 ohm load).

GL!
