It's a damn shame my Power Vision won't tune the audio. Oh well read on I must.

In all honestly, what would be great for this forum is to make a sticky at the top with a couple of different types of stereo set ups. Actually maybe a few stickies. Pre- Rushmore SG, Rushmore SG, Pre-Rushmore RG and Rushmore RG. Inside the post are good system starting points based on price. Basic, Med Level and Top End. It would stop of all the "just got a bike, want a (input type of system and budget) posts. Not that they are bad, but to give someone who really has no clue a starting point would probably be very helpful. I'm sure a lot don't understand some of the common abbreviations that are used. Just throwing that out there.

That stickey is good to learn about audio in general for a newbie. I think the other post was meaning to explain all the manufactures abbreviations. CV, DD, SS, AD, PA, AA, to name a few. It is very confusing to a newbie

Hell, last year everyone was looking to run Hertz components like the MLK line with a bridged amp, or a Diamond 800.2 like me, and what did that all cost? $1100-1300 for a good amp like the Arc Moto or Diamond 800.2 and that's just the fairing. Now apply that same thinking to the lids (Hertz MPX690 for example) and then something in the lowers or tour pak pod with another amp in the bags and now you are well over $2 grand, maybe even $3 grand.

If I only knew then what I know now lol. I still have a decent chunk of change in my setup, but not near what I had. Trying out the Mmats and Arc PSM were the best things that could've happened to my bike (next to finally listening to and trusting Alex lol). With Higher sensitivity speakers, but not too high to lose the warmth, on less power and getting back to some tuning basics (mainly gaining control of more than bass and treble) my setup hasn't ever been this loud and clear with more bass than it has now.

I'd love to let Slye or Alex get some tuning time on my bike to squeeze every last drop out of this setup, but in the end no matter what you are running the tuning will always make the biggest difference whether it's a pro audio setup or not.

Excellent point that Alex makes repeatedly. I think that is part of the knowledge that the average end user can't get doing research. Unless you have a reputable shop for your audio like the gear heads do for the engine upgrades it becomes expensive trial and error. That's why some help knowing what components work well together is so important.

gotta agree 100% here Matt, the most expensive piece of my puzzle was a used 4v2 at $200something from a member. concider what you get in return tday from a pair of mmats and horns as opposed to the top shelf components a year ago...makes me wonder what will be available in near future
