Default iPod Question- Clipping?

Has anyone ever measured any iPod output to see if turning the volume up past any point will cause clipping? I use mine on the AUX input of stock HK HU and will soon be adding an amp. I rarely use my radio and plan to use a mp3 or phone app for test tones. Granted an iPod is digital but it has a internal amp to drive audio jack.

Always have the iPod volume set to max WITHOUT any eq set on the iPod. Then adjust accordingly on the headunit. Just make sure to turn the iPod internal eq to OFF.

Interesting, I have always left the EQ profile on based on what sounded best with headset on. I will go that route when using on the bike

I too run an ipod (shuffle) off the aux jack. works great but I notice every time I stop and re-start I have to ramp up the volume on the ipod.
its like it always reverts to half volume. not a biggie just something I have to remember.
not sure if others may have that issue or just my own ipod gremlin.

Settings on some ipod have a max volume. This what it may boot up to by default, You can set it to max there..

Also nothing wrong with using the EQ on the Ipod. But you would want the deck set flat. Only use one source for tuning the EQ you want. I:E deck or Audio source

i blue tooth my phone into my aux jack on my old radio sound hu, and yes it will make a difference, i found that using the media output at 93% worked out the best, 2 taps down on the volume scale of the phone.
