Default Flat Response Boom Flash

I found an Indy here near stl that has the techno research tool that is supposed to be able to flash the boom system.

I have some confusion on what may or may not be the flattest EQ curve.

I thought it was the 8 speaker, 2 amp flash. Is that still the case? I believe you lose fader control with that. If that is the case, is there a flat response where the fade is still enabled?

Thanks guys.

Andy

No fade. The flashes are for boom audio systems and fade is controlled thru the amps not the radio.

Thanks Alex. That settles that part of the question.

Is the 2 amp, 8 speaker the flattest and best for multiple amp and speaker system?

I already have the dsp. I'm looking at it as if I've already spent all of this cash to get where I am, why not spend a little more to start from the HU with a relatively clean slate.

Im sure my point is kind of moot since I have the dsp, but the closer I can get to the SQ I'm seeking, the happier I'll be.

Never hurt to lean forward in this audio shix. Awesome stuff!!! Last I heard, the 2 & 8 was the cleanest EQ baseline. U might PM Bunker as he is the IT Nerd that did a deep dive on the various flashes.

Thanks T.

I'll send a note over to Bunker.

Alex, I saw your video on the other thread of the orange road glide without a dsp and just a flashed head unit. It sounded very good. That's what got me thinking about the clean slate idea of having a fairly flat EQ headed to the dsp In order to make an even cleaner signal for better SQ overall. Was hoping you'd have some insight on which flash you're using since there isn't a mail in flash service yet.

Thanks as always guys. I'm still chasing that unicorn.

I would love to know too. I've measured three completely different flashes and they're identical for all intents and purposes. But i have not changed the configuration. The problem I clearly see is volume affects the curve. If you generally listen at the same volume all the time you're fine otherwise you need a DSP that adjusts with volume.

Are you running a passive or an active LOC?

No LOC. Speaker level inputs into Arc PSM dsp now. Like I said before, my point of wanting the flash is probably moot, but curiosity is driving my discussion.
