Anyone have a difficult time getting your fairing back on after adding an amp? Installed a J&M amp on top of the Boom tray and now with the wires I’m having a hard time getting the fairing into place. When I take out the tray you can see into the fairing above the glove box (Ultra Limited). Thanks
I’ll bet anything that the OP assembled both tiers of the JM amp tray and as a result, the front end of whatever amp he’s got is pushing up into the fairing on the left and right sides behind the headlight. OP— did you zip off the two little pillars on either side of the amp tray base and throw the top part away? Orrr do you have a half inch space between the radio and the secondary tray that your amp sits on? What amp? Take a pic and throw it up here. Unless you didn’t cut those little metal pillars off. If that’s the case, grind them off and toss the top part of the amp tray and any amp will fit just fine.
Welp I’m a lil smart and there is nothing attached to the bottom of the amp at all. I can see the J&M sticker with manufacture date. Oh and it is pushed completely forward to the gauges against the wiring harness. Its a 2016 Ultra Limited and a J&M 500 watt amp. Usually I go to the old lady to get my ***** busted. Geesh!!!!
I hope to have pics later. Left the stock Harley tray on top of the HU. When I took that off you could see into the fairing area around the glovebox while sitting on the bike.
