Does the fosgate bag kit require an amp to use? I'll assume there is no way around this and this little project is going to be $1500
You'll end up spending more than $1500 if you don't do it right the first time (ask me how I know)...especially when you keep returning to this site and start reading of all the new setups everyone is running.
I would recommend to get a good 4 channel amp that you can stuff under the fairing, then work from there. Go check out the classifieds section too. There's always someone on there selling their old setup because of wanting to upgrade...
my bike is laguna orange so painting was a factor for me (cost of paint and painter)
you have to factor lid cost along with paint options. for me the best 'deal' worked out to be factory ordered lids. listen to these folks and do it right the first time, they won't steer you wrong.
I guess I'm looking for the most affordable way to do this. If $2k is the only right way to do this then I better just move on.
step back and look at the whole picture here Shore
If i were you, i would start out with a solid front fairing set up
if your not in a huge hurry, there are always new products hitting the market. and lots of excellent equipment for sale in the classifieds
your lids and matching paint is definately the high dollar point in what you want to do here...and can always be added down the road if funds arent there right now
