Default Rockford Flash

Does anyone have experience with the radio flash that Rockford recommends (2 speaker 1 amp)? I have a local Indy with the technoresearch software that can do this flash. Wondering how it compares to the bt355.

Not sure if that will work. I remember reading past post about the nightmares of flashing to add aftermarket units. Even if the HU is flashed for 1 or 2 amps, it is flashed for HD amps and not aftermarket amps. It might work but I for one don't want to take the chance with my amp in the hands of a HD flash. Now your indy just may be able to do it. Reach out to haze here as he may be able to help you and your indy.

Yup! We flash every bike we do.

The HD dealers can no longer do the "aftermarket" flashes like the one Rockford recommends. If you Indy has a tool do it, try it. Worse case he flashes it back. Just note once you flash the HU you no longer use a BT line leveler, you need a regular LOC.

what configuration flash do you use? Is there a option to make the fade function?

What happens if you run a BT after flash?

It depends on the flash. If your indy flashes it as the dealer would then you will need the LL after flash to keep it from distorting on the lows and eventually blowing the speakers.

There are actual bin files that alter the eq curve coming out of the radio. With the proper file chosen the bt355 is not needed for eq correction. The bt355 serves 2 purposes, it tames the eq curve from the stock radio with the crap book eq output, and converts to a low level rca connection point.
If the correct bin file is chosen, that does NOT use the crap boom eq, any loc can be used or in the case of the Arc PSM, or the RF DSR1, you can go high level in to your dsp and move on from there.

It seems like getting that correct bin file is the hard part. I don’t plan on using a dsp at this point if I can get decent sound with a flash. The BT isn’t bad but would like a little better. I already have the BT installed so not sure the effort would be worth the gains. How much better does a flash sound compared to the BT?
