2012 SG speaker upgrade - MM652?
Hello -
ill start out saying I got lots of info from here in the past to help me make a sound upgrade for my 2012 street glide
I started to upgrade my stock fairing speakers a couple years ago. In late 2016 I bought a Rockford fosgare PBR300x2 and what I thought was a set of Polk audio MM651 with adapter rings. Fast forward to now when Im finally putting all of this together. I realize the speakers are Polk MM651UM and they wont fit. The fairing is at least a 1/4 from where it needs to be to put back on. Now Im searching for new speakers to buy so I can finish this install. I was looking at the MM652 but am not sure if they will clear my fairing and havent seen much posted about them being installed in the front fairing of older streetglides.
So so does anyone know if the MM652 will fit or have a recommendation for something else? Im looking to spend no more than $200 and am looking for good sound cruising down the highway at 80 mph.

I’ve got the metra 82-9601.
I bought the the speakers and adapters from sonic electronix a few years ago. The UM speakers have a built in grill that houses the tweeter and the grill isn’t removable.

Yeah, that grill is definitely gonna be a problem.
Damn near any speaker without that grill will fit so to answer ur original question, the MM562 will fit. Just make certain whatever u buy does not have those marine grills on them.
