Default My 🦄

I went a little over budget and my wife says I took it too far, but man this thing sounds awesome. I also had to eat up some of my right bag in doing so, but made up for that lost space and then some with the tour pak. I tried the PSM, DSR1, Audison Bit Ten, and settled on a JL Fix 86 with TwK 88. They are big, but I like them the best so far because the Fix actually flattens the signal and it really doesn't require that much eq after. The PSM was nice and great size wise, but ruined it for me when the micro USB broke off before I was done tuning it. I ended up settling on the Euphoria EPC6K mids with Focal tweeters. I had a few different ones in there but thought the horns were a bit harsh. The PRVs were second to the EPC6K speakers but they were missing something. Build components below;

Euphoria EPC6K (just the mids)
Focal TNF tweeters
Focal TN53K (K2) tweeters
DB Drive WDX69MOTOs
JL Audio M880s
JL Audio TwK 88
JL Audio FiX 86
JL Audio M 600/6
JL Audio XD 600/6

Thanks to Tailwind, Moto Mike, Baby Boy and the others for their advice thru the process.

Great job Ron. how about a video. One question I have is why 2 sets of tweeters on your front platform and are you running both sets of tweeters off a single passive X-over? I see you even added a cooling fan to your bag set up! Whats the difference in sound between the K2 mid bass and the Euphoria mid bass?

Thanks! The original placement of the tweeters on the outside of the fairing lost some volune when riding and adding the wideband in the grill brought it back. The K2 mid bass sounded pretty good but I could tell I was pushing them pretty hard and they weren't going to last very long. In my opoopin the Euphorias have better bass and don't distort as quickly at higher volume, but the Focals did sound cleaner at lower volume. I have passive crossovers inline on the TNF tweets that came with them and the K2 crossovers on the 53s. I've been switching back and fourth between putting them in parallel on the same channels and then using two channels for the lower fairings (off now and in the basement).

Very nice damn work!!!!!!

Ur build brings up a damn good point about a really damn important detail that should be more of a focus on future component builds. A solid tweeter will make or break a system as much as a woof or amp will. Just not much chatter about tweeters and it's awesome ur ears were chasing the perfect ones for your sled audio goal.

Very nice build brother and killer attention to detail!!!

The B3s were a bit much for my taste and the Hertz on a friend's bike we're too. I don't think I'm a horn guy and found it real easy to overpower the tweets and most I've tried were pretty harsh. I like the Focals best and just hope they up to the weather, if not I have some others I haven't tried on the shelf. I want to ride it and tune but I can't get out of the house today due to the mother's day.
