Just checking in to see if anyone has seen this ? I'm still streaming music from my phones aux cord through the factory head unit (2012) 6 channels of Polk mm651 and 2 amps. Have been wanting to upgrade for sometime but kind of waiting for something in my system to die. It sounds 100% better than stock and like the Energizer bunny "It's still going" However this past week my old phone finally died (Samsung S5) I upgraded to an S8. My system is now considerably louder with the new phone. I'm getting same volume with at least 2 to 3 bars less on the head unit. Haven't tried to push system but am thinking I may need to reset gains
Hey Y'all I put the AX7000 in my car. No amp using 4 RF Punch 6.5's. I also have a cheap-o powered sub under the Passenger seat. This is a seriously good audio setup.
On my 2018 FLHTCU I have a AX5000 with a Rockford Fosgate 4x100 amp and 4 RF power Speakers. The back are are the Fosgate speakers for Harley because of the fit. The fronts are not I did have to trim the speaker a bit to make it fit "in" the pod. Other wise the (harley) TMS65's fit "on" the fairing POD.
You would think with power speakers and the amp that the bike would sound better than the car but it doesn't That AX7000 with RF Punch speakers is bad ***.
The anti glare screen sucks. You can't see it half the time during the day.
You do have to run a battery 12v to it and even still It will max out and power down sometime when crancked all the way up.
You guys are right. You lose the COM and you have no output other that the speakers.
I use apple carplay with google maps. It works good except Google is being dicks about letting apple use Google maps. You can't zoom in with 2-3 fingers. Only android auto gives you that. But Eff the HD nav it sucks and the Boom 6.5 is a joke.
Its too bad regular 6.5s won't fit in the tour pak pods. They sound better than the 6.5 for harleys and great price. Hell it's almost worth getting aftermark pods that will accept a regular 6.5. Its the magnet size that ****** that up.

Here you go...don't need aftermarket pods...just these adapters for 6.5's
Maybe this spring when I got nothing else to do I might pull the AX7000 and 4 Punch Speakers from my car and install it on the harley. Its bugging the hell out of me because it sounds so f'ing good. I know its a car not a bike doing 70mph but even so. Just parked in the garage comparing the two side by side: Bike=AX5000+TM400X4ad+4 x Rockford POWER 6.5's vs. Car=AX7000+4 x Rockford PUNCH 6.5's the difference is crazy. The car is so much better.
So again I'm just wondering how well The AX7000 and 4 punch speakers will do on the bike. Before that though I'm hoping to get someone who knows what they are doing to check my EQ and AMP setup on the bike. I really don't know much about it other than turn every thing down and go up until it sucks, then back off.
Jtpntx the one issue I can see from having used that RF amp is your preamp voltage on the 5000 is only two volts. That isn't near enough for that amp. It is basically designed for speaker level inputs. Lefty and I both had to use line drivers with that amp to get it to play loud enough to be worth the trouble when using preamp inputs with it. The 7000 has five volt preamp outputs so it should play louder, but I can't say how loud.
You may want to just bite the bullet and get another amp. That RF is a great sounding amp but only if it is fed properly so to speak. Lefty went from that RF to a Stinger and liked the results. Check with him on the details if you like.
Thats interesting. What I had was a small Kenwood Amp like 4x45watt. It wasn't terrible just wasn't enough.
What if I were to clip the RCA's off the connectors and go HU speaker out to the amp?
