I thought I read they were 2ohm, 100w. Been thinking about doing this kit too, do the speakers sound that good?

Kave Dweller is correct. The TMS69 RF speakers are 100W @ 2-ohm. I'm very happy with them, but an amp is absolutely required to drive them.

I don't think I could have cut up those lids.

It pained me, but I wasn't about to shell out $1400 for the H-D factory-painted lids for the speakers, and aftermarket painted lids didn't give me the warm fuzzies either. It's done.

I hear ya. I wouldve had a hard time cutting those lids as well but the end result still looks sweet and I bet it sounds great.

How much re-wiring is necessary if an amp was added? Is there a recommended amp for this particular setup?

Those look good, i'm worried about over powering 'em. I have a 2180 sitting on a shelf, that at 2ohms is supposedly well over 200w.

I have the HD14-TKIT in the front, and that includes the amp, speakers, and harnesses. If you get the kit, it's completely plug-n-play. The rear RF speaker kit (TMS69BL14) has everything you need for installing the included 6x9 speakers in the rear. I will caution this: the front kit comes with a rear harness that will directly plug into existing tour-pack locations. This harness will not directly connect to the rear RF kit, but the TMS69BL14 kit has its own rear plug-n-play harness for the rear kit. Lesson: if you are installing the front kit and decide to do the rear kit later, you will either have to splice up the wiring or install the rear kit harness.

The amp in the front kit is very good. It's their TM400X4ad amp, 4-channel/400W. A reflash of the head unit OR line-levelers are required. I had mine flashed by the audio shop (HD dealers cannot do this any longer) and they also tuned my system for LOUD, i.e. mostly high frequencies so the system is heard clearly at highway speeds. I'm very pleased with this system.

So it looks like $850 for front kit and $499 for rear - still gotta cut holes in the lids, install amp and connect new wiring harness, oh yeah and get unit flashed. hmm... not sure Im ready to drop $1500 for sound just yet.

Thank you tho for all the good info. I think I will eventually go this route.
