Default Ultra 4 speaker upgrade help please

I recently picked up a 14 ultra with the Boom 6.5 head. I found the tunes to be decent, but went riding with a buddy who as the hog tunes ultra set up on his 16 ultra. I could hear a noticible improvement over my stock system and was going to pull the trigger.... then I found this place...Ha! I’m not so sure the hog tunes is the correct route to take. So.. here’s what I’m looking for if anyone would be kind enough to give me some suggestions... I’d like a nice upgrade for a 2014 Ultra, 4 speaker, no lids or pods. I normally listen to iTunes but occasionally fm radio. I generally listen to classic rock and country, no competitions or show, just looking for clear and loud at highway speeds. Budget.. 750.00.

When you say no pods do you mean lowers or TP pods? Also, what type of riding do you mostly do? Backroads at 50mph or interstate at 70mphh? Makes a difference as well.

Sorry, by pods I was marking reference to the lower fairings... I would guess my normal riding as maybe 30% at 80mph plus, mostly back road 45-60 mph.

Maybe I can narrow this down to generate some input... I’d like to utilize a plug and play kit. I don’t know much about audio but have decent mechanical ability. I’d like a system that consists of 4 speakers and an amp...

06, the best plug and play systems IMO are the Biketronics systems but over your budget. One of the basic system recommended here is, BT 355 line levelers, to flatten the signal from the HD 6.5 HU, Cerwin Vega B54 and Infinity 62xi or 62.II or Soundstream 1000 d amp and 4 ohm speakers of your choice.
