Default AMP settings help

I have a Kenwood X998 HU,,AMP MA4-3000D , Front speakers are Kappas 62.11i. Rears are 62iX. What would be a great place to start with my gains. If I use a meter what voltage should I be looking for at 3/4 volume? Thanks. I have the amp set to Flat BTW

Well today was the last of the 115th. Rained all day and heavy. So I figured I would kick back and do some learning. Used the sticky on gains. Used my meter dialed it in sounds awsome. I always wondered if I was missing something or left some power on the table so to speak. Now I know!

Awesome. Will have to meet up sometime. Glad you got your question answered. Today was a bust with the rally. Where did you end up with voltage?

A meter setting should never be your final setting on your amp. It should always be finished by ear.

Pretty freaking close. I settled at 27.5 Volts Kappas are 2.7 ohms. But are listed as 2 ohm speakers. My amp is listed as 375 X 4 at 2 ohms. The chart does not use 2.7 it's either 2 or 3 ohms. 2 ohm at 350 is listed as 26.5 volts. I started there and bumped it up. It's load and clear. Thanks for response. Helps files were awesome. Used the -5db file as sugggested. On the gain dial it is about 3:30 O'clock. Was much easer than I thought it would be.

I checked and double checked the volts. I am going to ride that way and see how it sounds . I can drop the gain pretty easy if it sounds off. I was unable to ride today. But I did adjust while the bike was running as stated in how to. My older 4 ohm speakers would clip at around 1 oclock. Volts I was unclear about. I'm still learning Will post back if things change

Gains should be set to what speakers can handle, not max output
