Does the 2018 Ultra limited come from the factory fitted with the WHIM so that a wireless headset can used, if so does it still need to be flashed by a HD tech to be paired with the headset?
Concur.............The only models that come with the WHIM are the CVOs.
A word of caution.................if you choose to use the WHIM after it is installed unless you use the HD Branded Headsets you will only get MONO. If you want to swap between wired and wireless you will have to get the WHIM deactivated or un-flashed at the Dealer in order to use the Mic...........Not a pretty scenario. I had the WHIM installed in my 2017 RGU, but have opted to deactivate the system since it forces me to have to use the wireless headsets which I would have to move from helmet to helmet.....pain in the ****.
I saw the new BT half helmet headsets today at the dealer and it peaked my interest. Glad I didn't buy one after I just read that you needed a $300.00 WHIM to run it. Ridiculous MC charges $500+ for something that should come standard in this day and age. Especially on a $30K bike. Both the WHIM and the headsets have horrible reviews as well due to the limitations and issues with getting the headsets to pair, buttons not working, mic's failing off, etc. For that price it should work flawless with any BT headset.

I just did the same thing except, I pulled the fairing off and unplugged the WHIM and went back to hard wired.
