DD Audio D4.100 Report
Got a D4.100 and a Dsi2. Got the amp installed in tp for my rear stage. I was looking for a replacement for the RF TM400x4 that I like so much. The DD amp sounds real nice and plays well with the PA style speakers. No issues, install is very straightforward. One of the cool things about this amp is it's ability to do a band pass crossover, neat thing for folks without a dsp, and not usually found on amps in this price range.
It played well with the PRV and Mmats spekaers that i was working with, but It did not seem to like the MPX690's. I spent a fair amount of time trying things out with it, but my ears might have been fried by the time I got to trying to work with the 6x9s, that happens to me sometimes.
Build quality looks very nice, the sound is kinda between the RF and the ARC Moto 600.4. hard for me to put into words, but definately a powerfull unit, only a tad larger than the RF. Has good indicator leds, including clip for channels 3-4, but it does seem to run a tad warm. I don't know how fair that assesment is yet, since i was driving the **** out of it for a fair amount of time, then through my backpack on top of it, closed up the TP and road home. by the time i got home it was noticeably warm in there, but that is not my habit, and there are more amps and dsps back there too. Once i get the Disi2 in there, I'll report on that.
For those that don't know about the Disi2, it's DD's 8-10 channel dsp, and it looks very promising, and also has Bluetooth module input capability. I'll report on that one later, after i get some seat time with it.
