Default Adding Lower fairing speakers

Hello all, I will preface all of this. I know nothing about audio, speakers, amps and so fourth.

Right now I have a Boom II, Harley boom speakers and a boom amp in the front fairing of a 2014 sgs. I would like to ad speakers to the new lowers and I have no idea where to start. would I need a "4 channel amp" I assume each channel is a speaker? Also I keep reading that I will need my stereo programmed by Harley to do this? Any help in the right direction would be much appreciated. I don't think I want s speakers in the bags as I am told they don't really help, but that may be wrong as well. Thank you in advance and my apologies for the questions I am sure you have all answered thousands of times.

Travis
