I'm absolutely no expert on the subject but when UltraNutz was kicking around here one of his suggestions was polyfill. What my speakers did before that was the sound was bouncing around inside the fairing producing undesirable results. After I polyfilled around them it cured that. It made for a better sounding bass for sure.
Damn near every different speaker will respond in a different manner. The dynamat is without question a huge improvement for the fairing "speaker enclosure" but the benefit from poly will vary a bit.
the 2 different materials do 2 different things. one is a sound damper and one creates "an Illusion" for the speaker's suspension. I would think that a combo of both work give the best results. on the non rushmore bikes i've had very good luck using polyfill packed around the speaker. I'm probably going to put some dynomat in this weekend, so i'll post up the results if it's anything to write home about.

Look at the sticky on gain setting at top of this thread. Thats one way or some will tell you to
use your ears. I would suggest some better speakers as well
