Default 8 ohm amps for 8 ohm speakers

Ive been reading a bunch of threads lately and noticed more and more speakers being used are 8ohm. I know they can be used in conjunction with a 4ohm amp, but I am wondering if you are going to use 8 ohm speakers on all the channels of an amp, is there a good 8ohm amp that can be used on our bikes?

I think most use 8ohm wired bridge/parallel.

Im just thinking out loud here but i dont think there would be a benefit since most amps are rated for 2 or 4 ohm they can easily handle a 8 ohm load. The problem would be going the other way, using 2 ohm speakers on a amp rated for 4 ohms. Again just my thoughts i am far from an expert.

Ok I get that but, if a speaker is at 8ohm 200 watt, that means at 4ohm you would need to push close to double the wattage to get the best sound. If you know your speakers that will be attacked to the amp will all be 8ohm would you not want to push them by an 8 ohm amp? And if so, are there 8 ohm amps available for our bikes?

I don't know if any manufacturer that makes an amp optimized to push an 8 ohm load. Back in the early 90s there were a few, they were AB class amps and would not be sled compatible. It would be interesting if a company would offer an 8 ohm option for amps so wiring wasn't as important when using pro audio speakers.

That is the point I was trying to get to. Since we are seeing more and more speakers being offered at 8ohm, is there an amp that is optimal for 8ohm that doesnt require bridging and running in parallel. The speakers I was thinking about going with are the Beyma 6CX and 8CX for my fairing and lowers. Both are 8ohm 200-250 watt. If I were to run them off a 4 ohm amp I would need minimum 1k amp. and use all four channels. If I would want to add a set of speakers to my tour pack or bags at 8ohm, I would need to add or upgrade an amp.

Since I am still "green" to bike audio. I was just wondering if that is possible.

In that senario you would need a amp that pushes 500 RMS @ 4 ohms x 4 chanells 2000 watts.

Please help this cave man out. The lower ohm speaker requires more power to get to the same db right?
Regarding the concern of matching an amp to the speaker impedance & the potential of harming the amp, the parallel bridged ops creates an overall equivalent impedance thus the amp is in its wheel house, right?

Thanks!!!
