Default Upgrade time.

Been looking to upgrade for awhile on my 2001 Electra from just Sony head unit and hogtunes 5 1/4 speakers., I have been researching and watching vids and such for weeks. Just wanted a nice simple upgrade but affordable. No $300 dollar 6x9's here,No $300 amps. Went with 4 Polk DB 962's in the bags with Kenwood 4 channel KAC-M3004 amp. Polk DB651's 6.5 inch in batwing with a (don't laugh) Dual XPR82D amp. This little puppy was only $59 and pumps out 90W per channel. Got all the stuff off Fleabay. The Sony volume goes from 1 to 35 and I can't handle over 29 lol. Freakin loud and so much nicer now. SRV cranks! I don't know if you guys know about this guy on Youtube but he Dyno's Amps for real watt readings

. He knows his stuff and both his vids on these 2 amps pull more watts then advertised.
Kenwood amp $117
Dual amp $59

That Kenwood might be a nice lil amp for horns.

Impressive numbers for both. I question the SQ, longevity and reliability though. For the money, go for it. Time will tell.

Are you still running the Kenwood? I used the same amp to power 6x9s in my Yamaha that had a Streetglide style fairing. I'm shopping around now for bag lids.

Just installed my lids last night running that same amp to a set of Infinity Kappa 93IX 6x9s. Wish I would have went with the dual lids that you have but even with just two it's loud and clear. Amp still has two unused channels so I'm thinking of upgrading the front speakers or adding some to my lowers. Could do both if I go with 4 ohm speakers. That Kenwood is way underrated. That video is what helped me to go with the Kenwood instead of the Rockford on my last bike. You put together a nice budget build. I had Polk 691s and later a pair of Pioneers running off that Kenwood bridged and I got plenty of compliments on how loud and clear they played. A lot of people slept on that amp. Great for those not wanting to spend big bucks on a build.

The Kenwood was the first amp on my bike. It is not a bad little amp for the price. As a 4 channel amp, it wasn't enough power for me running Rockford's in the fairing and Rockford's in the tour pack. Better than stock, but still wasn't enough to keep me happy. Definitely works better as a 2 channel amp bridged.
If a person was in the market for a new 4 channel amp though, for a few extra bucks, the Stinger 700 is definitely a better amp.

I'll check out the Stinger amp as a comparison if I choose to upgrade one day. For now I'm happy with the setup. Loud and clear at 80 mph. Could always use more bass but I'm not willing to give up storage in order to get it.

You could swap out speakers for a little more bass without giving up bag space.

You could but only gain more bass sitting still or at speeds under 50. All bass is lost in the wind above 50. Just the nature of the beast. Mid range and good vocals are (at least for me) is the goal at speed.
