So after reading this forum I decided to go with Cerwin Vega B52 amp, Biketronics Bt355, and Infinity Kappa 62ix. Thanks to you guys I was able to wire everything. When I put speakers into pods and try to attach the pods back to fairing the tweeter hits on the grill. Is there an aftermarket grill that provides more clearance or an adapter plate of sort? Whenever I try to look up and adapter it just takes me to 5.25 to 6.5. 2014 SGS.
You may have to mount that speaker inside the pod so the surround doesn’t hit the inner fairing.
This^^^^^
You will need to split the pod open and mount them inside the pods. If not, the surround on the speaker will rub and they will be ruined in very short order.
You are going to need to install the speaker pods or a set of Biketronics brackets in the fairing as they add needed support to the fairing. Without the pods or brackets you may have more problems in the near future than the audio upgrade is worth.
I wrote that wrong. I installed them on the inner pods. I split the two pods in half and did the pod mod
Whew, you had us worried. We had a guy here a couple months back that screwed his speakers to the outside of the fairing in front of his bars. True story!
