Default Xm unit

My wife has a 13 sg and she is wanting to add Xm to it. My question is the unit that Harley sells to plug into the radio sits on top of the radio and we have a amp sittings top of the radio right now. Is there a way to get both of them to fit under there or is there another route we can go? What are you guys using to get Xm besides your phone, we don't have an unlimited data plan so that is not a option.

thanks
kevin

The xm unit is designed to mount on top of the radio. But, it doesn’t have to mount there. It is small, and the cables are long enough to mount it anywhere you can stuff it in.

I want to say the module slides in to the back of the head unit and leaves the antennae that can be mounted nearby. I always mount them outside the fairing just to avoid dropping signal

I'll have to look at it in person. If I bought a amp mount would it move the amp enough to slide the Xm unit under the amp and on top of the radio? Guess I might have to see if a dealer has one so I could actually look at it in person.

thanks

Does anyone know if this would work with the stock Harmon head unit? She likes the look of the head unit and doesn't want an aftermarket one.

Not happening....she may not like the look of an after market HU. But I'm sure she'd love the sound....
