Does anyone have a photo of how their Biketronics breakout connector is routed on a rushmore bike? I'm working on my 2015 Ultra Limited. Can't seem to get the big plastic wiring adapter positioned out of the way for the faring to clear. Tried a bunch of different ways. Stuck!

 

If I recall it comes out of the radio with the wires bent left. You need to bend that wire bundle straight down while it makes that left so it's closer to pressing against the bottom/back of the HU. More importantly though is rerouting the main harness that used to go into the radio. There are a couple offshoots with unused plugs, stuff those in the compartment left of the radio and start bending the main harness so it sits tighter to the inner fairing supports. Stick with it, it'll go.

Also make sure that it's your BO harness that is hitting. Could it be an amp? Speaker? A little play doh on all your possible culprits will tell you the story about where you need to make your moves. Good luck, it'll fit but yea the breakout harness is pretty clunky which is why i took mine out.

 

With the stock radio, it's kind of a bear to make it fit well so the outer fairing isn't being interfered with. I have the BT4180 and now their XAV-AX5000 kit. I also removed the CB module and mounting bracket. Note that the Sony isn't as big as the stock radio, and the removal of the CB allowed me to move the BT controller module to that area (on the clutch side). On a stock radio, you'll be a bit more limited due to where the main harness has to plug in to the Boom radio, so the mass will be more concentrated to the brake side of the inner. the BOC isn't very flexible (at least my version from 2016 isn't), so you'll have a bigger mass of "harness" near the back end of the JukeBox (cubby). The first two images are of the stock BoomBox 6.5GT with the BT4180, 2 BT355 line levelers and the BOC installed taken last spring when I was swapping Legends Axeos into the forks. I believe I also had the WHIM module installed at this point as well, so that added a long harness to interface with the bike's comm port/cb port, adding to the rat's nest. Note how much everything is 'skewed' toward the brake side of the inner fairing area. The second two images are what the inner looks like now with the BT XAV-AX5000 kit. (The extra blue/red-striped wires on the right side are for the HD Illuminated Windshield trim kit. Those wires won't be present in your install if you don't have that trim piece).

Hey Juice, heres a couple pics from under the hood.

The large connector body of the BOC harness that is heat shrunk is rubbing against the heat sink on the back of the headlight. The interference is evident when putting the lid back on. It goes, but there is about an 1/8'' air gap down at the bottom between the chrome skirt and fairing with all the screws tight.

 

One other thing I noticed, at least on my bike, is that the JW Speaker 8790A headlight (the adaptive model) has a smaller heatsink on it than the stock so-called "Daymaker" headlamp, so that made the fairing reinstall a bit easier.

Also, with the Biketronics BT4180 amp install, BT supplied two standoffs for the bottom two screws in the outer fairing...not sure how much more clearance that gained for me.
