Default 10W650 Setup

I am going to be installing 4 ohm 10W650's into my bags this weekend powered off of a SD 1200.1(2). I was wondering if these speakers will take the max clean gain of the amplifier which is probably around 750W per speaker at 2 ohm's. Also was wondering for those that have experience with these speakers what kind of x-over points are you using on the low and high ends. Just looking for a baseline setup to get me by until I take the bike over to Lucky 7 after they get back from Sturgis for a real tune.

Sealed? Ported? Correct air space for specs? I think those need to be established before seeing how much power they will take.

That is a lot of power unnecessary power to them and they prob won't live long if you tune them to play very low. An 800.4 would be plenty, hell so would a 600.1 2 ohm. Check this link: https://www.facebook.com/dafunkshop305/videos/2455309901185726/

That's what I was gonna run a 800.4 bridged but Henry (the guy at the beginning of the video) recommended that I run the 1200.1 to get the most out of them.

I got with Juice on pm who is running the same setup in his bags and he gave me some recommended x-overs for running the amp at full power.

That video will show you that you dont need tons of power to get a system to sound GREAT. It is all in the design ,set up and tuning.

I agree 100% but that system is balanced pretty in terms of power front to back. I am going to be pushing around 300W to all four speakers in my front stage and I am running a comp. driver/comp tweeter combo in my lids and comp. tweeters in my front fairing. The 10's are definitely gonna need some power to keep up.

I know Henry, and he definitely knows his stuff, especially with PRV, but that sounds like lot of power for 4 ohm speakers. I might be wrong, but personally I would be more comfortable with 8 ohm speakers with that much power.

I even asked him the 8 ohm or 4 ohm and he said go with 4 ohm. PRV does advertise that speaker as 650W capable dynamic power. Also, if I wind up killing them they don't cost that much so I could replace them and adjust the gains down or experiment with a different set of speakers.
