Default Adding speakers / what feedback

Ok, I have a 2018 Ultra. I am looking for feedback on this post. I would like to add 4 new speakers (and maybe at a later day add an amp) I don't want to break the bank. I do like and have had good luck with JL Audio speakers, but would like to get feedback on what others have done and used and are happy. Now when I say "break the bank" I would like to stay under $1,000. I know that may seem like a high dollar, but I would like quality and have enough speaker to add a 4x100 channel amp later on.

Thoughts, feedback, what have you done and what are you happy with?

Thanks
Bob

Will you do the install yourself? Adding just speakers wont do anything without an amp. But you can get a great 4 channel amp and 4 quality speakers with line levelers and wiring for less than a grand. Paying for install might push your budget a bit.

I plan on doing the install (won't be able to flash the radio) but will run new speaker wires to the rear pods. What I am looking for feedback. I know everyone will have their own opinion, but wanted to know what everyone thought best bang for the buck will be on speakers and amps. I have heard about the Hertz speakers, but have not used heard them in person. I have used JL Audio, and like them but want to know is there better out there and have set a budget.

Listening for feedback and thoughts....

I have tried several hertz speakers, some sound good but I don’t think they hold up well in the bike audio environment. Jl speakers don’t see to get loud enough, unless you’re going to 880s. I think there are better options than those two for the money. I recently installed a set of Mmats 601cx and am pleased so far. Too early to tell how they will hold up.
Definitely get a amp as well. Mmats 4110 or stinger get good reviews but I personally haven’t used either to give a review.
The BT355 line Leveler is a good option so you don’t have to flash the radio.

Right now the consensus is the mmats 601 cx are the all around 6.5 speakers. Not sure about the rear pods on an 18, someone will weight in on fitment for those.

I have the mmats in my fairing and the stinger spx700 amp with the RF speaker lids in the rear. Sound is loud and clear with some decent bass. I think you can get some dealerships to flash your radio, or a local audio shop. Seems like that was about 50 bucks for me last year.

Scratch JL Audio 6.5s from ur list as they are just not good on a sled unless u get up into the Z model but at that point the bang for the buck is no bueno.
