As my crack, aka bike audio, addiction gets worse, I cant stop thinking about the next step. There are two things I want to do:
1. 10s in the bags. I'm debating, but looking hard at DD VO W8a.
2. Tour pak with speaker pods. AB can do the pak, but can you get pods for a chopped oak, or only the King pak?
Gotta go, I'm getting paranoid.
If you decide to try the vo-w8a I have a near new set I would sell.

It's funny you say that. I meant to write VO W10. The 8a's look good, but I haven't seen any reviews. The mmats 1010v2 looks good on paper too. I'm a fan of both brands.

I believe Tailwind ran the vo-w8 in his bags and liked them over others he tested.
The benefit of a 8 is that you still have some bag space for stuff when travelling.
GZ has the new model of their 10's coming in about 2 weeks. According to what I read they have made some needed improvements as far as connection issues etc. Just a question GS- what if you put 10's in the bags then left the tour pack for the wife cushion and for storage while riding (IE no stereo equipment)? That is what I hope to accomplish myself.
GS with your plan it sounds like you are going to use up most of your bag space with audio gear. If your Wife likes the idea of a wrap around backrest maybe consider the King tour pak. I have Harley's organizer on the lid of mine where I store gloves, glasses, tire pressure gauge and air shock pump, spare fuses and such and can still fit two full face helmets in it and close the lid.
Might be a way to go hog wild with your saddlebags and still keep some storage space. If you get the luggage rack on the lid like the Ultras have that's another spot you can tie stuff down on for trips. KuryAkyn also makes a nice cup holder for one side of the arm rest and a storage pouch for the other.

That's pretty much my exact plan. I just want to make sure I have full range speakers in the bags to make sure they are audible at speed, with 350 watts each.

In an attempt to manage expectations, imho there is a very slip chance that ur inside the bag speakers will be anything beyond barely audible at speed. Physics brother. U may feel them bumping but u will more than likely barely hear them at speed so don't count too much on that stage having much of a role in your audio system at highway speeds.
And finding a "full range" 10 that's worth a shix just prob ain't gonna happen.

I wondered about that myself T. I don't have any experience with "banging" stereos so I didn't chime in.
GS if you got the King tour pak would it be feasible to put some speakers in the pods to compliment what you have? I like the AD CX621s I have. They seem to compliment the 6x9s in the lids pretty well. I have no trouble at all maintaining the sound stage to where I am sitting in the middle of it even on the highway with the Rineharts blasting away. The ADs seem to be good at vocals and highs and the Polks in the lids seem to perk up when guitars start kicking in. Maybe if you get a feel for what frequency range you may be lacking in that could give you a nudge towards picking the pod speakers.
If you went that route you would still have a lot of good storage space to tour with.
