Default 4 speaker tuning

So I went a little farther than I planned a couple months ago. 14 Street Glide. SonyAX5000, BT4250, BT 7.1 pros. I have Hogtunes Lids and GZ 7x10's on the way. I have high pass on the head unit set to 80hz. So my question is when I set up the 7x10's, how do I send the lower frequencies without smoking the front speakers. By the way the front sounds great.

You will have to use the amp hpf for each and leave the hu hpf on full.

This amp only has gains. No filters. High and Low pass on head unit.

And that is why I don’t have one. Sorry man I didn’t see the 4250. Yes I am old. I don’t think the hu has separate hpf for front and rear. It may but I would have to look at the specs in the manual.

I'm thinking a dsp is in your near future if you want separate crossover frequencies.

What about a passive 80hz high pass filter on the fairing side and about 50hz on the high pass side, and then run the low pass at 14khz. The problem there is the heat the passive filters give off and wasted power. I don't really know anything, just repeating things I have read. If a DSP is my best option, recommendations?

I'm using the DD dsi-2, Dayton audio has one that some are using and several use the on RF Dsp.

That amp has a built in crossover set at 80 hz I believe, unless special ordered with no filter. Call BT to see for sure.

I spoke with Mike at BT. With just the 2 front speakers, he had me set the Sony head unit crossover at 80hz high pass. I am wanting to set head unit high pass at 50hz for the rear GZ7x10. And add passive crossovers of 80hz for the front instead of a DSP, cost and ease of set up. I will spend the money for a DSP if I really need to but don't see it as necessary for a 4 speaker set up. Thank you for the reply.
