The 6x9's would have to be a little better than the 8"s, right?
How many 6x9s have you seen in lowers versus 8s? No way a 6x9 outperforms am 8 in any location.

I thought you said above you bought them. However, upon reread, I see you just bought the pods. Either way, still looking for your eventual feedback as I'm sure you'll have this settled far before me.

I've never seen 6x9's for lowers anywhere, ever. That revelation from Madhunter earlier was the first I've ever heard of such a thing. That said, DB's own spec's say the WDX69 run down to 70hz compared to the WDX8 down to 75hz, bother with approx the same sensitivity. Which is why I asked. I thought 6x9's have the same surface area as 8's as well? I've never heard the two side by side, which is why I was asking when SBates chimed in. Don't quite know what an acquired taste means, and how that would compare to 8's instead. Fish for the same intel you are.

As mentioned earlier, it's an acquired taste. To me they look hideous. You may not think so. But I would not choose these over an 8" pod any day of the week.

Yeah, those grills aren't the best but I think with just generic perforated black grills, they might hide better. Either way, the 8's definitely would look better for sure. I just caught that extra 5hz on the low end, and jeez, on the low end, every 1 Hz makes a difference. Sure would like to hear both set ups side by side.

Hey Frenchie... Glad to see your still gonna play with 8's... I decided to keep the DBC lowers and throw some money at the project to replace foot boards & brake & shifter arms. Selling some stuff to offset the cost of new, but my wrench got the stock foot boards on my TallBoy footboard relocaters and clear the DBC lowers which is the big piece of my comfort mods... Let me know what you end up going with for speakers...

Is there a fitment issue with the dirty bird lowers and your footboards and levers?

So far the only downside I've found to the G2's in the fairing is finding something for the lowers and speaker lids that will keep up volume wise. I would rather find something to keep up to the G2's instead of having to turn them down to balance out with the rest of the system.

Yep.....Working thru the figment issues. I’m a 6’4” mutant. Running a Daddy Long Legs Seat. TallBoy Foot board Relocation kit which shifts the foot boards 2” forward drop the front down 2” and the rear mount down 2.5” , had 21” Cyclesmiths XL Banana boards with a +3” brake arm with a monster size pedal cover.

Had to lose the XL foot boards, running stock backwards on the TB bracket kit. Chopping off the pedal on the plus 3” arm and switching to a brake peg. It’s getting there...

If your stock your fitment isn’t an issue.

I had to remove all my tall boy comforts to add lowers last year. I'll say I am more happy with lowers than the +3 brake and +2.5 shifter.
