So, I pick up a new RGS 2019 early this summer..this H-D dealer had just become a RF dealer also...just so happens my bike was the demo bike that the RF techs used to show the H-D techs how to do a proper install...I'm like ok...maybe a nice clean install..ya know!
Anyway I thought it sounded...ok, something I wouldn't have to do.
Well after this summer I'm not impressed...I need more!
I've got I guess what you call the basic RF kit ,speakers in the lids, faring & amp...
Then my buddy has to 1 up me with a new CVO RG along with the Boom system..
Unfortunately I think his Boom sounds a little better than my RF!
So my understanding is the RF amp is decent? The speakers are a bit under par...
I know I got to replace the speakers..but the amp? Is there an amp that will flat out kick the RFs ***? I can't let a $3-$400 amp hold me back the 2nd time around!
Also Iike most others I'm trying to keep it simple with just 4 speakers & amp if needed?
From what I've read the Mmatts speakers are the way to go, if so is this RF amp
gonna do the job... which I doubt? Of course I'll be installing myself..so an amp that fits nice would be nice. Thanks for some good advice...and a guy who can be trusted to purchase from?
The Mmats will do the job. Without knowing what amp they put in there it is hard to tell. The RF amps are not the best in the sled world. Keep it simple I would go with the Stinger SPX700x4 , Mmats 601.cx and Mmats 690.cx. For the amp pm forum NDfastIn.
If your amp is the RF TM400.4 IT WILL RUN THE MATTS speaker hust fine and sound very good, i ranmone on my bike for a while, the tm400 is a very nice unit. Youjust need to make sure that your head unit was flashed,

I agree that the RF TM400 will be up to the task of driving the MMats...you should at least just try replacing speakers first. The MMats speakers are very efficient and will get loud and maintain clarity. The Stinger is a great value amp but if you have a TM400 the spec's and power are very similar, so I wouldn't swap for a Stinger.
If the dealership offers the RF flash you are good to go and may have it already, if not a set of BT line levelers will help flatten the factory HU.
If you have a functional fade front to back, most likely you have the Ultra flash done already,

Marco has a point. I also ran a tm400 for a while and it is a good amp. Since you bought the bike from a RF dealer, I would ask them if they flashed the HU first before you went any further and find out just what flash they installed. That alone may be the biggest part of your setup not sounding good. Those tm69's in the lids should sound decent if the HU was flashed and if not they will distort bad on the low frequencies. The big drawback is the tms65 in the fairing. Just a sub par speaker that will sound tinny. The mmats 601cx are just about as good as it gets for coax speakers and the tm400 will be a good amp to run them.
