Default Noob question

Hi all, got a question on amps. To start I am just looking for a simple fairing setup. Looks like you guys recommend setup based of speaker choice. I am not really brand loyal and haven't really gotten to hear a lot of systems. Honestly probably won't get to hear any so I am kind of going to have to go at this deaf so to speak. Seems like the favorite is mmats 601cx and a stinger amp and bt line levelers. Sweet sounds easy enough, I will go for it.

But I ran across a deal on a diamond micro 4v2 and a bt 4180. So my question is would one of those be better than the stinger or just stick with the stinger?

Back story is its going on a 15 street glide special. Dont need a parking lot queen setup, just something that jams going down the road. Like classic rock and country. Old school hip hop.

Thank you for any info, maybe I am going about the selection of stuff the wrong way so I apologise in advance.

If you are not doing more than 2 speakers you do not need the Stinger, Mmats 4110 or the BT4180 or D 4v2 u mentioned above.

A simple 2 channel amp with respectable / quality Watts is all u need. Prob 125-150 watts available per speaker will give u a little head room.

If ur getting a great price on that 4v2 it might be a pretty prudent move as well. Stay away from the BT355 as ur gonna need crossovers w the 601CX.

Oh wow I was way off on understanding any of this stuff. Lol
So then if I just got a 2 channel amp would those mmats not be a good choice?
And what kind of crossovers?

All of the amps mentioned above have active crossovers on the amp itself with the exception of the BT4180. The BT4180 has no dials on it at all so I would avoid it w these speakers as the built in amp crossover dials really should be set at 95-100 with the Mmats 601CX.

If ur just doing 2 speakers and are not going to grow into other speaker locations, that NVX VADM2 really is an economical and good quality option.

I think what Tailwind meant for you to stay away from was the BT4180 not the BT355. You'll need the BT line leveler to tame the HU.

Just an opinion, but I'd stick with a 4 channel amp, Stinger or MMats 4110 either will be great with the 601cx's. Yes, cost a few more bucks now but gives you expansion options if you ever want to add lowers or lids. Could be that you stay happy with a 2 speaker set up, but often the case that a little taste for your ears leaves you wanting a bit more... I'll be going for 6 speakers this off season...

Sbates, thats what I was hoping but U didn't want to argue. That's what was throwing me off.

No u glide, that was my thought, I guess I didn't say that exactly in my post. But I would think there should always be room for expansion. I just didn't know what amp was a better choice.

The Stinger SPX700x4 is a good amp that leaves room for future upgrades and wont kill your FM.

Merry Christmas all and hope you had a wonderful day.
With the holiday shipping and local places being closed, I was able to collect almost all of my components. Stinger 700, amp install kit (amazon), bt355 (front only for now), 2 mmats pa 601cx. I still need the fairing power extension harness. I think that is all I am missing. Unless someone else knows of something.
Also doing it this way, I don't need a flash, correct?
Thank again
