Hello All,
I have a 2020 Ultra limited.
The stock sound system is not bad but I would like a little more volume/clarity.
Would really like to just swap out the speakers with something a bit better.
Is there something out there without adding an amp, etc? If so what?
If not, what can you suggest?
Not looking for killer sound system, just an improvement over stock.
Nope. I tried no amp witt the Kappas. No improvement, finally broke down installed Stinger 700.
Yep, lots of us have tried to make improvements with just a speaker upgrade over the years. There is just nothing out there worthy of a recommendation for just a speaker upgrade. You need the amp to get that volume at highway speeds. Even some of these so called plug and play systems with amps are not worthy of installing. You would think the Boom would be amazing at the price it costs, but is sub par at best.
The Stinger is a great amp.
I also have a new 2020 Ultra Limited, and my dealer has a 1/2 off on service for audio upgrades going on through the end of this month. They JUST picked up my bike to install my LA Choppers handlebars- so I’m very interested in figuring what I should do!
My experience with these things is that it’s hard to get enough clean bass.

You are just not going to get bass from a 6.5 speaker let alone clean bass. Doesn't matter what kind of speaker or how much power you add, it just isn't gonna happen. So you need to focus on is a high SQ midrange setup. What ever you do, even at half price, don't spend the $$ on boom upgrades. You will be spending $$ on it and end up being highly disappointed, taking it out, adding quality aftermarket, only to be spending $$ for nothing on the boom.

SO half off installation of a WAY over priced under performing system? lol
I'm sure a dealership is not going to install a good aftermarket audio system. Not sure Id trust them if they did.
