Shame, Amp sounds great except for the BS harness issue.
You are not going to regret changing out that amp. I was hesitant to replace the 2 PBRs on my bike. Huge difference going to the Stinger 700 and the NVX Vadm 4 that replaced my PBRs. I also replaced my Kappa's with the Mmats 601.cx. another great upgrade while you are in there.
Surprised you are having harness issues though. I had no issues with my PBRs over the 2 years I had them. Had one sitting on the Sony HU, and the other one on a hogtunes amp bracket.
Definitely Overkill on the Kappas, but would sure be a great choice if he had any thoughts of future upgrades at that price, if anything like lowers are a thought.
4 x 175 watts at 2 ohm would be plenty for 4 Kappas or the 4 x 100 watts at 4 Ohm definitely allows for more speaker options down the road.
If he is set on just the 2 speakers, the NVX Vadm 2 dialed down a bit from the 200 x 2 at 2 ohm for the Kappas or 150 x 2 at 4 Ohm for a future fairing speaker upgrade looks not bad, but still falls pretty close to the price of the Stinger 700.
same here, i had it in my cart for 175 then deleted it when i went back it was 229. somehow i got it added back at 175 and purchased it. i saw it on one of those popup facebook adds this morning showing it 175, you know the ones where your thinking of buying something and the ads start popping up!.
