I've been running my DSI-2 with the stock HU and 8/2 flash for a year using the speaker level input. Things seem fine, but I got to looking at the specs and it raised a question. The high level input sensitivity is 7V-14V. Low level is 855mV-1.6V. I have it on good authority that the Boom HU is around 3V output with the 8/2 flash. This bugs me. I'm thinking of adding an LOC to drop the voltage and see if it falls in the low input range. Am I over thinking this?
I had the same concern right after the DSI-2 came out.
I called DD and talked to the tech support about the voltage difference on the inputs and was told it was a typo with the voltage gap between low level and high level inputs.
The tech said to hook it up and set it.
That is a legit question but as ITW mentioned dont over think it
