So my Sony DSX310 HU has been acting up, decided to replace it with the DSX M55BT. The 310 had front and rear preamp outputs which worked great for the DSR1. Now the 55BT only has rear and sub rca outputs. DSR input settings only allow Front/Rear, front only, and front/sub inputs if I stay with low level.
question is, since my radio only has rear/sub outputs, can I hook it up to the DSR front/sub inputs? It’s all low level right??
At this point I don’t really want to switch it over to high level and hook dsr to radio speaker outputs....
Just my .02 but I wouldn't fool with a head unit that did not have proper front and rear preamp outputs. I adjust the fader all the time using the thumb controls. If it were me I'd swap out the deck for one with complete outputs.
Some folks have taken a liking to the Sony mex-m100bt: Sony MEX-M100BT

grrrrrr!!!
use those rear outputs as inputs for dsr-1. Check settings in the radio sometimes this outputs are working as a subwoofer outputs by default, just switch them to rear and you'll get full range signal.
