Default Help a Noob Out

Hello,

I'm looking to gut my audio and go with a new system this spring. In need of some advice as I want this system to be good since I made the mistake of getting Boom 2 when I first purchased my bike. With some research I did below, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions (opinion or experience) on an option above or a completely different setup. Thinking of a budget of $2000-2500 but cheaper is always welcomed. If I don't do the head unit, thinking $1,500-2000. Thanks in advance!

What I have:
Boom 2 with amp in the fairing
Stock head unit

Considering:
This year (Fronts and lids)
Next year (lowers - potentially haven't decided, could be this year if in budget)

Head Unit (currently Harley Stock)
Sony XAV-AX7000 (https://fatheadcycles.com/collection...OovmaHplX1bgxg)

Speakers (would like to do fronts and bags this year and potentially lowers next)
1. Fosgate stage 3 (https://rockfordfosgate.com/products...14rgsg-stage3/)
2. A diamond audio package 3. I also considered getting some 8" bag lids and figuring something out for that. (recommendations welcome)

I've been doing some research and generated a few audio system upgrades to choose from. I am thinking about replacing the head unit but would be fine putting the HU off a year (will do this year if it is a considerable upgrade). I am looking for suggestions on what system to go with and also any wiring, amp mount, etc. I may be missing.

The link is just a view only Google Spreadsheet with a few different systems. I'm not dead set on anything and am willing to modify if there are suggestions.
Currently I am between the MMATS option 1 and the Diamond option 2 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing)

Difference between MMATS option 1 and 2 is the rear speaker size and getting new lids
Difference between Diamond option 1 and 2 is the amp (Not sure if anyone has tried Diamond out?)
I have kind of ruled out the Fosgate stage 3 based on what I have read about MMATS.
Also, I am looking for a lid cutout kit. I helped a friend do his Fosgate lid cutout and thought it was straight forward and easy but can't find just the mounting and cutout kit.

That J&M product you have listed as a mount is only grills. I think I also see an RF lid kit? You won't use both.

What bike is it? What color is it?

I have a 2017 street glide special in charcoal denim. Thanks for the heads up! I can cut the lids up myself if I find the proper kit

Personally I don't care for the Diamond amps the cost performance ratio isn't great.

Based on what you've posted I'm going to make a recommendation, take it or leave it.
Fairing: faital 6rs140 and GZCT 500iv-b
Amps: SD 800.4 and SD250.2
Lids: mmats pa690.cx
I think you would really like this, as all these are good performers.
On the lids with your bike being denim look at the hogtunes lids vs RF kit. The RF kit is great but the HT looks better imo.

Keep in mind that in order to jump into pro audio you'll want a DSP.

Memorial day weekend purchases haha. I have seen quite a bit and also learned quite a bit from reading and some self learning on audio. This is what I "tentatively" have:
Fairing: mmats pa601 cx
Amp: Soundigital 800.4D or mmats 4110
Lid Speakers: mmats pa690.4 cx (6x9) or ground zero GZCF 710xspl
Lid kit: fosgate (try to sell speakers after)
DSP: DSI-2 and the bluetooth adapter
Amp Wiring: Metra ST-AK8

Wondering a few things:
1. Am I missing anything?
2. If I do the GZ 7x10 will they fit the fosgate?
3. Recommendations on mmats 6x9 vs gz 7x10?

if you're not planning to upgrade till spring, hold off on ordering anything and take a trip to the midwest meet and greet in Praire du Chien at the end of June and put your ears on some awesome systems and see what you like, along with the opportunity to pick the brains of some really good guys.

@madhunter60 awesome, great thinking. I never heard of this, is there a Facebook group or link I can follow for dates and whether or not it will still happen?
