Whats up everybody! I ride a 2019 FLHX and i'm eyeballing FatHead Cycles xav-ax7000 plug-n-play kit. I already have a 1200 watt wetsounds amp, hertz mille pro 6.5"s in the fairing, RF 6x9 baglids, and RF DSR-1. I'm curious if the head unit upgrade is worth it? I have tried the search feature several times and googled this s**t for probably a week and I can't seem to find a clear cut answer. I don't really care about the "info" that the 4.5" factory head unit provides and i'm looking for more tunability plus a cleaner sound.
Also, is it difficult to "undo" the install of these components on the factory head unit? I didn't install them personally but now that I'm considering the leap I figured I would install the HU myself. Any advice on install or tuning from the audio gods?
I have the Sony, upgraded from my 4.3 unit. Love the Sony, don’t miss anything from the old unit.
if all of your other pieces are plug and play into the bike harness, then there should be no issues doing it yourself. Fatheads has good install videos on their site, and it comes out of the box ready to go in (mount is on, harness is made to connect to the thumb controls). You lose a couple things from thumb controls, but I had no issues adapting.
Fatheads guys are good with info on the phone, you could probably call and ask before you order to confirm.
Hell I thought people were giving away the 4.5" GTS head units. But thanks for the reply. Any particular reason you wouldn't upgrade. Not being a smart-*** just curious about your opinion.

I guess I assumed because you had a new bike it had the 6.5 GTS, ya no clue on the little ones, Ive never seen or knew anyone with that unit, and ya Ive never seen one for sale either lol.
