I know this has been beaten to death on the Forum but I really need some help / advice from the experts.
I have a 2014 CVO Limited with Boom! 6.5 GT system. Seems like I need to replace the amp (two out of four channels are dead). While replacing the amp, I'll also replace the 4 speakers.
Based on several threads on the Forum, I'm looking at the Stinger SPX700/4 amp and 4 MMATS PA601CX (these will cost me a small fortune because I am in Portugal - shipping, import taxes, etc.).
Questions:
1 ) Is there anything I can get to make this a "plug and play" setup with the existing wiring and head unit? I don't want to lose the functionality of the hand controls and don't want to have to rewire a system. Also, because I'm in Portugal, getting the radio flashed would be difficult, if not impossible.
2) Are there any Europeans on the Forum that have replaced amp and speakers? If so, what amp / speakers did you use that are readily available in Europe?
Any help, advice, wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
The Stinger is popular here because of the price and quality and the same can be said for the Mmats. is there a local car audio site you can shop at to keep the cost down. Here are 2 options for you The Biketronics Line Levelers or a DSP. If you go the DSP route it is a bit more work but can be worth it if you learn how to tune it. I dont know any plug and play system that dont require runnubg wires. That said I would go this route if I were you. The BT libe levelers and explore amp and speakers locally. Remember you need a class D Amo 100-125 a channel and must fit under the fairing. Come back with some brands you can source local and we will help you out.
Bit the bullet and ordered the Stinger amp. Found it on Amazon for $181 and customs and shipping added $85. Total was less than the $314 the amp was going for last week.
I've decided to get 4 Hertz speakers because they are readily available here. Any model that would be preferable over others?
Also, I am planning to get the Biketronics Line leveler. I notice they have a kit with 2 line levelers and a breakout connector. To run the four speakers, will a line leveler suffice or will I need the kit?
Anything else I will need to get this system set-up?
As far as hertz go for 6.5s, I prefer the cpx over the mpx. The cpx have soft dome tweeters vs the mpx has center throw tweeters and they can get harsh real quick. Both will take the power from a stinger with no problems. If you can find a set or 2 of the now discontinued hcx hertz then grab them as they have great sq.
As far as line levelers go, you now have fade with the cvo so you will need both front and rear line levelers but wont need the breakout harness. This will allow you to keep your fade control.

I recommend you contact Badd Azz Bikes and ask for Cam. They are located in texas. He can help you to where it practically makes everything plug and play. He just hooked me up with a kit that will allow me.to retain all factory wiring.
