If I were going to go through the trouble of plugging a bluetooth adapter into the aux port I'd just go ahead and plug the phone directly into it. If you have a newer iPhone with a lightning only plug you can get an adapter for it.
If you want to keep your phone in your pocket some folks have had good luck with this unit:

If you would like true bluetooth integration that allows you to use your handlebar controls for tracks and display artist and track information on the radio screen the Metra BT-HD01 Saddle Tramp adapter will do so but it is more expensive.

The Metra unit includes a USB charging port you can mount on your dash if you want.
