Hey guys/gals,
I am at best confused. All of this audio information has blown my tweeter. I have searched and I have watched your videos and DAMN i didnt know sound like that was possible on a Harley. Rather than continue looking at all of this stuff that isn't gonna happen, I am pleading for your help. Please, help me get the most bang for my buck.
What I have, 2010 FLHTK, stock HK head unit, four tired old infinity reference 6032cf (in fairing and tp pods) one ST4.1000D NIB, one NIB stinger amp install kit, two NIB lower fairing speaker pods, and $500 cash.
My mission was to purchase 6 new 6.5's and fill all of the holes and power them ALL with the ST4.1000. Then I started reading, trying to decide which speakers to drop in and the plan just got all muddied up with an excess of information.
All I wanna do is spend my money in the most efficient and effective manner to achieve the goal of adding more volume and soul to the Stevie Ray Vaughn I am trying to hear coming from this sad excuse for a sound system. I am 51 years old and my eye sight and hearing have gone to sh*t. My hands still work pretty good and I can correct my vision enough to do the install myself. I do have enough experience with this stuff to be just on this side of dangerous.
So, after reading my pleae will you guys help me out? How should I spend this $500. Maybe you'll leave me enough to buy the 6 pack and cheeseburegr I'll need while installing this mess.....🍔🍻...Cheers and Thanks to all who reply.

Honesty your going to need to up your budget to fill 6 holes and that amp wont cut it either for six speakers.
Ok, I get it. I'm not playin in the major leagues. I was just hoping for a little help. These DB drive 6.5's have been suggested by another little leaguer. Maybe a pair for the TP and fairing and then a good PA for the lowers. Or maybe I just don't have a clue.
The DB Drive speakers are a good speaker IF YOU CAN CONTROL them. If you dont have a DSP they will make your ears bleed. They have a big magnet and getting them to fit in the tour pak is tough.

What about just throwing some kappas in there? They're bright, but cheap and sound pretty good and may all run off that single amp. At least in the faring and tour packs.
4 kappas off of that amp will work but not 6. they are 2 ohm. 6 speakers off of that amp is a tough one.
Thanks guys for some constructive suggestions.
I thought about the Kappas but a lot of folks don't seem to like them. I would like to hear a warmer sound but I might just deal with it.
Am I wrong that two pair of Kappas in series = 4 ohm. Maybe Kappas in the to and fairing on one channel, DBs in the lowers on the other, would the gain and x-over give me a chance with the DBs?
Just thinking out loud...
That is true but @ 4 ohms you will get about 50 watts a speaker. Not worth the time or money. Many have went down the budget road and it just costs more in the long run.

So this rating of 90 watts rms per channel is not true. WTF this is just getting to be a real PIA. Sorry venting a little.
